As I upload all the footage to Google Drive and it takes up a lot of space, can I just transcode all the videos for them to occupy 50% less storage without any loss of quality? It sounds not very logical for videos to be smaller without quality loss, but they their metadata does point out they are equivalent.

The videos do differ, though - the source says 'Color profile: HD (1-1-1)' whereas the rendered says 'Color profile: HD (1-2-1)', and also the rendered videos are slightly darker (which I actually like).
